If you want to tune your instruments, or play together to the steady beats of a metronome, you can now do so directly inside of your JackTrip studio.
You can find both the Metronome as well as the Tuning Note inside of JackTrip's Studio Menu. Open the Studio Menu by simply clicking on the following icon in the Desktop App:
Metronome
In order to activate the Metronome, simply select the "Metronome" tab.
JackTrip's Metronome synchronizes ensures that everyone hears the beat at the same time by automatically adjusting for each participant's Internet latency.
You can change the tempo of the metronome by dragging the Beat Per Minute ("BPM") slider. The further you drag it to the right, the faster the beats.
The volume slider below determines the volume of the metronome that will be sent out to all participants.
Clicking on the "Start" toggle will Start/Stop the metronome.
Tuning Note
When clicking on the "Tuning Note" tab, you'll be able to set the pitch and volume of a tuning note, which will generate a synthesized tone for everyone in your studio.
Clicking on the frequency selector will allow you to select a reference note of your choice. Here are a few examples:
Note that the letter(s) indicate the reference pitch of musical notes, which is followed by the frequency in Hertz. E.g., the classic frequency for the musical note A is 440 Hz.
The Tuning Note makes it easy for all participants to tune their instruments to the same frequency, right here in your studio.
We hope you find these tools helpful when playing on JackTrip!
